|Zen and the art of snow shoveling

When I was a young boy my grandfather taught me that the best way to shovel deep, heavy snow was to chop it into blocks and move the blocks. When I was a little older my dad taught me that putting some lubricant on the shovel blade will keep the snow from sticking to the shovel (although with the modern plastic snow shovels this is no longer necessary).
So now when it snows I go out and remember what my venerable ancestors taught me. I also wonder why I still haven't bought a snow blower so I can do away with this shoveling crap completely!
