I have mixed feelings about this year's World Series. For the first time in my life it is being held in Chicago. Except it's on the south side of Chicago and not the north.|
Granted U.S. Cellular Field is much closer to where I live than Wrigley Field. However, I just can't bring myself to get excited over that south side Chicago team despite there being a lot of people in the area suddenly jumping on the White Sox band wagon.
The Cubs' blue in my veins just won't let me do that. I guess that means I'm going to be rooting for Houston. I also have nothing against anyone who does jump on the Sox band wagon. I can understand local pride and all that. My heart just won't let me do that.
So I'm wishing I could turn around and not hear/see something related to the White Sox in the big game. At least that "security bubble" that the Homeland Security department is going to place around the game does lend itself to some amusing jokes.
