|A lawsuit and "the green flash"
||[Sep. 5th, 2007|01:45 pm]
I should be doing other things rather than writing this. I haven't really done much productive this past week, and I can't afford to be as lazy as I have been on many levels.|
Anyway, there are two things I need/want to post. One serious and one just fluff.
On the serious side, Mom and I each got a copy of the same letter yesterday. Apparently, We've been invited to join in a class action lawsuit against a local car dealership that sent us and I don't know how many others in the area a flier that allegedly violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
It goes on to say that the settlement fund, if approved by the court, will pay every claimant a minimum of $22.43, and prob. closer to $120 in actuality.
Mom and I have until Oct. 26 to reply to our letters. We prob. will, but I need to read the fine print on the letter first, and I haven't been up to it either yesterday or today.
Moving on to the fluff side (Join the fluff side of the force, Luke! <-- ok, it doesn't work as well as the original line).
This morning the radio was talking about something I never heard of before; "The green flash." I guess it's an atmospheric event that can occur just after sunset where there is a brief flash of green light in the sky. The radio says that it is commonly seen in parts of FL, and here in the Chicago area the conditions just aren't right to get that effect.
Ah, that's all I've got for today, and I really should be doing ... 10,000 other things despite my sudden bout of the laziness disease.
