I should be working, but I need a bit of a break. So I'm going to write this then get back to moving again. |
I said I went through a phase where I put instant hot chocolate into my coffee. That is good, and I'm sure I'll continue doing it, just not daily like I did. Lately I've been throwing a cinnamon stick into my coffee. So far the same stick actually. Given my money situation, I'm trying to keep those precious sticks as long as I can.
Garlic may be my favorite spice by a long shot. However, cinnamon is high on my list of favorite spices too.
Anyway, this week I've been doing for Mom more than I had originally expected until I figured out my schedule.
Tuesday, Mom had a fasting blood test. So I go up and was heading out a little after 8am to go take Mom for that test. I'm about to get in my car when I hear someone yell "excuse me" behind me.
I turn and see a lady in dirty SUV type thing. "How do I get to [a local street]?"
With the morning fuzzies still in my head I gave that question much more thought than it deserved before I answered, "You're on [that street]."
"Oh, in that case how do I get to [the local county owned beach]?"
Ready for a simple question this time, I answered almost without thought, "Straight down the road, past the railroad tracks, and it'll be to your left."
She thanked me and drove away. I went to get Mom and told her of that encounter. Until Mom asked me if that lady was going to spend the day at the beach, I wasn't awake enough to realize how early it was for anyone to be heading to Lake Michigan.
Well, I get Mom to the local hospital for her tests, go park the car, and shoot H a quick text message as I'm walking back to the hospital. Then turn off my cellphone as per hospital rules before I enter.
Ah, I won't bore you with the rest of that day or yesterday. Just suffice it to say they were long and full of the mundane.
