Tip of the Hat

(no subject)

I have on my local PBS station on the television right now. They have a new age, self-help guy on right now -- One who I have quoted here and elsewhere. Right now while listening to what he's saying I'm thinking it's just a bunch of hooey.

I hear words. Words are as much dust as we all will be in the long run. Achieving report with our source is a nice thought, but how many actually know how to do that?

Personally I'm much more for simply trying to live in the current moment, and just pay attention to what I'm doing and what's happening around me.

Granted, I haven't been very good at it lately. My funk keeps trying to point out negatives. There are no negatives in the current moment that is happening. It is simply what we are currently doing. No threats from moments ago, or deadlines of a future that doesn't exist. Basically, as that PBS guy I mentioned said in the show, it's putting aside ego.

Ah, I'm talking hooey too, aren't I? Time to find some of Herman Melville's brass (obscure reference, 10 points and a hardy handshake If you understood it).
