Well, that was anti-climatic.|
There is no check or checkmate in dark chess. You capture your opponent's king to end the game.
My opponent had to have known my queen was right there by his king. He had to have seen my queen with his just before I took his queen, and yet he made no attempt at all to stop my capturing his king. He just pushed a pawn on the far side of the board. I expected him to do *something* to protect his king. I don't understand that at all.

He had no thought of defense the whole game. I thought he was just being unorthodox (which for dark chess is a good thing). All he was doing was sending his pieces to the slaughter without any thought of defense. I could have safely been much more aggressive in my play if I'd known.
