Nite Mirror
I must pay more attention to WGN radio! :::::sigh:::::: They are giving away tickets to the Cubs home opener, and that is twice now in the last 24 hours that I heard the sound bite that signals when to call in and I missed my opportunity to even try calling both times.

I'm not sure how much weight I have with the Cubs organization. They've never sent me any free season tickets like I'd wish they would. I don't understand that, I mean why wouldn't anyone not want to give me a free season pass to the games? All I ask is for one of those nice little air conditioned corporate suites the ball park has on the upper levels with the private kitchen, private restroom, mini bar, and refrigerator stocked with whatever the person getting the suite requests.

All joking aside here, on the topic of throwing out the first pitch. For anyone interested, I did hear that Ron Santo is getting the honor of throwing out the first pitch for the Cubs opener.

Just as some FYI to those who don't know, Ron Santo was the Cubs 3(?) time golden-glove winning 3rd baseman during the '60s, and the current color commentator for the Cubs' radio broadcasts. He also lost part of his leg this past winter to diabetes. From the media reports, and what I hear during his radio broadcasts the man eats, sleeps, and breaths baseball and the Chicago Cubs.

Spring training and getting back to broadcasting the Cubs games played a big part in his recovery from losing his leg from what I understand too.
