Um, just to have a sounding board, is it wrong for an adult child to accept payment for 40 plus hours per week spent working as a caregiver from the parents (at a fraction of what the other caregivers working for them are being paid)?

No simple answer, sorry

It is not wrong to accept payment, if payment is understood as an honorarium or as a token of affection.

It would be wrong to accept payment if it is given a way of obtaining cheap labor.

I think the rightness or wrongness of the situation depends on your emotional relationship with your parents.
