I got some phone weirdness when I tried calling Mom. Now she lives two blocks away in the same town as me. Yet dialing her number got me the "you must dial a one before calling this number" (or however that goes) message. I tried several times without the one thinking I just misdialed. Apparently, I didn't.
I'm suspecting this has something to do with my ordering broadband through the phone company, and it will self correct. After all, I successfully dialed into a nearby town to log onto the internet with my current dial up connection without a using a 1 first. So I should be able to dial a house that I can walk to in ... what two or three minutes at a casual gait. Once, as a kid I did the speed thing on my skateboard because I lost track of time and was well past the time I was supposed to be home. From about 10 blocks farther away on my skateboard I made the trip in under a minute (think I set some skateboard speed records that day). Then again back then I prided myself on how fast I could get that skateboard to go.
Anyway, I'm digressing again. The point is calling Mom is a local call, I shouldn't need to dial 1 first.
Hmm, I'll post this then try the call two more times. Once to be stubborn without one and if it still doesn't work than I'll break down and call her number adding one like the recording says.
