I just finished listening to some more talk about today's Cubs events. In the past week or so, I have been thinking of making a post asking why hasn't Lou Piniella, who is noted for his hot temper in the past, exploded yet. We got a hint of it in today's press conference after the game. If anything would I would expect today's fistfight between two of his players to do it, but he kept his temper better than I would have in his position, I think.

Two team members coming to blows in front of national TV cameras? I thought I had seen these Cubs through low points before in all the time I've been a fan. This ...

Considering I have made the comment to a few others already that Piniella should have been benching players and bringing up a player or two from the minor leagues to shake up the team, ... well, this is a shake up he had nothing to do with.

He's been so mild so far this horrible year, I just hope that discipline he's promised for Zambrano and Barrett actually has some force behind it. While the Cubs will be sold at the end of this year, they are still owned by the Tribune Corporation. I seriously doubt that if two newspaper reporters in Trib Tower started a brawl in one of the paper's offices those reporters would have a job the next day.

That's all I have to say on this embarrassing issue.
