|||||Shining My Flashlight On The Moon - Christine Lavin||]|
I was thinking of control today after reading a certain story referred to in another journal entry of mine.
We all live in our own mental universes, and we give power to others and vainly try to take it as well. I say vainly because taking and accepting power is an illusion. The only way to get it is to be given it as a gift. Most of the time we don't even realize what's going on.
It's amazing really. True equality is as much an illusion as total control. It's always a balance somewhere between the extremes.
Balance seems to be a theme in a lot of things I notice. Yin and Yang, Zen, paganism, nature religions and Earth based philosophies all deal with balances and exchanges. Even science: Energy can be exchanged for mass times the speed of light squared. An object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon (it's velocity's balance becomes upset) by another object (resulting in an exchange of energy and momentum between the two objects).
I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that everything is about interactions. Duh, that sounds kinda obvious stated like that, but what I'm trying to say is even things we do not normally think of involving balances and exchanges use them in critical ways and nothing is done on any level, micro or macro, in any field (natural, scientific, or social) without exchanges and balances (or equilibriums as some sciences call balances).

(Everything is in constant action and everything constantly causes others to act)
I was thinking that was an appropriate summary in tlhIngan Hol, but a true Klingon would prob. simplify it to:
(Everything fights one another)
