A lawsuit and "the green flash" [Sep. 5th, 2007|01:45 pm]
Nite Mirror
I should be doing other things rather than writing this. I haven't really done much productive this past week, and I can't afford to be as lazy as I have been on many levels.

Anyway, there are two things I need/want to post. One serious and one just fluff.

On the serious side, Mom and I each got a copy of the same letter yesterday. Apparently, We've been invited to join in a class action lawsuit against a local car dealership that sent us and I don't know how many others in the area a flier that allegedly violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

It goes on to say that the settlement fund, if approved by the court, will pay every claimant a minimum of $22.43, and prob. closer to $120 in actuality.

Mom and I have until Oct. 26 to reply to our letters. We prob. will, but I need to read the fine print on the letter first, and I haven't been up to it either yesterday or today.

Moving on to the fluff side (Join the fluff side of the force, Luke! <-- ok, it doesn't work as well as the original line).

This morning the radio was talking about something I never heard of before; "The green flash." I guess it's an atmospheric event that can occur just after sunset where there is a brief flash of green light in the sky. The radio says that it is commonly seen in parts of FL, and here in the Chicago area the conditions just aren't right to get that effect.

Ah, that's all I've got for today, and I really should be doing ... 10,000 other things despite my sudden bout of the laziness disease.

Just because I can...

RE: The 6th round game

If you want to know how many rogues you have left:
Each game needs to submit 5 coordinated PMs to find out how many rogues are in their game (depends on trust here...) Both games started with 5 rogues max. Five townies from each game send PMs guessing 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 rogues in the other game. Whoever is lynched is right and now the other team knows how many rogues they have. The answer to Q2 is not important because we will have the answer to that from the q1 answer from the other team. They can answer q3 however they want.

What do ya think?

How Townies are selected: If you can, get your inactives (who aren't contributing anyway) to post the PMs (of course with a CC to someone/everyone left). If you lose one of them, no big loss. Option 2, randomly draw names from a hat and whoever is drawn has to send the PM. If they don't, they aren't a good townie or they are a rogue (especially good if they are a rogue and know how many rogues there were!). Option 3: ask for volunteers. Rogues will be sure to pick a wrong number for their PM, so you can id them from that.

Gah! you can forget about anyone guessing one because that would mean the towns have already won. ;-)
