Even though it's my own story, I have to confess I get a bit misty eyed every time I read it. Then again, Gramp was one of my heroes growing up.
In other news, my Cubs are a game and a half in first place. Woot!
Finally, I just finished listening to a radio interview with Tommy Emmanuel. He is an amazing guitarist.
Here's two videos of him in action. First, "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" because it seems a few people are missing people who have gone beyond the rainbow to a land we're dreaming of. Then one where's he's doing something with a guitar that I've never seen anyone else do (Percussion Guitar -- where he's basically turned his guitar into a drum):
I was looking at some of the other videos of him. I have to add the one where he and Shimabukuro (<-- the Ukulele Wizard, bwt, the only person who can play that mini-guitar and make me think it is a real musical instrument*) do a duet of While My Guitar Gently Weeps.
*disclaimer: I'm sure there are other ukulele players who are skilled enough to produce real music from a ukulele, I'me just not familiar with any others.
