I'm sitting here watching the "Rally Monday" celebration in Chicago. It's nice. Although, I also agree with the critics of this. The Cubs job isn't done, and it's premature to have any kind of official, organized celebration. Yes, I know this is an MLB dictated celebration that all of the division winners are getting. I wonder what the Rockies and Padres homes are doing today since they are still battling it out for their division's spot.

Anyway, I just realized that as the Cubs president is giving his speech I'm hearing Ronny Woo doing his annoying woo bit in the background. That guy's made himself a Cubs icon for being annoying. Once in awhile I find him amusing, but most of the time, not.

I wonder how Mayor Daley is feeling having to go to a Cubs rally with him bleeding White Sox's black as much as any die hard Cubs fan bleeding Cubs' blue. At least I know the Illinois governor is a true member of Cubs nation. Gov. Blagojevich's speaking now -- Weird hearing this mix of a typical political speech and a Cubs rally speech with baseball organ music thrown in.

Mayor Daley in a Cubs cap is just wrong, although his carefully worded speech was nice.

I'm going to end this here and just watch the TV coverage of this.
