My enjoying limit poker has ended. Suddenly, the tables became much tighter than they were the first several days after I switched, and they seem to be staying tight. It took me longer than it should have to make the needed adjustment to my game and get back to winning. |
Cubs are 30 games above 500! I think I heard it was 1984 since the last time they were that high above 500. They also won the last 8 series they were in, and I heard that it was ... I want to say ... just stopped to look it up, 1937 was the last time they won 8 consecutive series (good thing I did look it up, I was about to say the wrong year by a big margin).
On the AAA minor league level, the Iowa Cubs clinched their division. I feel a bit sorry for them. With the major league team doing so well, I bet the Chicago Cubs will be padding it's 40 man roster while it can before the cut-off date to ensure they have their full compliment going into post season which could mean a lot of call-ups of the Iowa team's star players just as they're heading into post-season too.
Hmm, Cubs, poker, ... oh, yeah, I remember the last thing I wanted to bring up.
I watched the WSOP H.O.R.S.E. event tonight. Until tonight, I liked Scotty Nguyen. Actually, I still like him. However, the nice guy image I used to have of him is more than tarnished. Funny how we can be disappointed in the actions of someone we don't know sometimes.
With his drunken antics I was rooting for the unknown Michael DeMichele to win that world series of poker event. Actually, when it was down to the final 3 I was rooting for Eric Lindgren, but after he was knocked out in 3rd, that left DeMichele.
