I just did some researching on the web about my furnace and I'm feeling better. From what I read, most likely my furnace will need a new fan belt which from my reading would be about $20 and less than 1 hour of time to fix for someone who knows what they are doing.
Since I don't know what I'm doing, I'm thinking paying for one hour of labor plus a $20 part doesn't sound as bad as I was fearing could be the problem when I do call the repair guy. Then again, since I'm not mechanical, maybe I'm way off base and it is something else. ~shrugs~
(I had posted a semi-panicky, friends only post about my furnace problem which I've disappeared in the meantime)
I'm not at liberty to go into details, but I just learned someone I know through the internet is facing a serious problem. I've known way too many with this same serious health problem not to be affected by hearing the news. :(
What else? Well, once again I'm going to put off present shopping today to get my furnace straighten out.
Also, Today is the 50th anniversary of the Our Lady of Angels School fire that killed 92 kids and 3 Nuns on December 1, 1958.
What could be more horrific than the deaths of so many children? It is one of the darkest chapters in Chicago's history.
olafire.com is the website honoring the memory of those killed.
