Nite Mirror
I'm sitting here watching an old Jack Benny television show rerun; Then again with how long Jack's been dead, I'd be shocked if it was a first run program.

A young Wayne Newton is on this episode. I would not have recognized him. He's so young here, and I was shocked at how high his voice was in this too. He not only sang but Wayne played the trumpet, violin, and banjo. The future "Mr. Las Vegas" was a talented youth too.

Well, I shouldn't be up right now, and as I typed this the Jack Benny show ended (The Phil Slivers Show has now started). Mom has a Dr. appointment I've got to take her to tomorrow. Beddy-by for me, I think. Nighty-night ya'll.

Gosh, I haven't heard Wayne Newton's name in years!

G'night! =)

I just checked Wanye Newton's website.

He preformed at a local casino about a week ago close to where I live and I didn't even know he was in the area. lol

Don't be surprised to see new shows with those people in them in the near future though. CGI is getting better and better and if I'm not mistaken there's already a movie out there in which Humphrey Bogart played a big part and he had been "unavailable" for several years by that time.

True, although there still are legal issues that could slow that kind of thing down.

I just stopped to do a quick internet search on the topic. It is in a bit more of a gray area legally than I first thought.

Although I was also surprised that the state of Indiana here in the US apparently does have a "right of publicity statute" protecting a decease's name and image from commercialization -- Indiana Code 32-13-1-1(c)(1)(A).

lol Indiana is mostly a farming state and has a law covering this. Who would have thunk it? :)

Yeah, but we got Orville Redenbacher... who I have seen appear in CGI commercials.

I have a feeling Orville's estate either still owns the popcorn company or sold the rights. I think it was the latter, but I'm not sure.

lub ya.

But it explains why Indiana has the law on the books. ;-)
