It is impossible to avoid remembrances of what happened at this time last year. Personally I hit my over-load point last night listening to the radio. Yet here I am writing about it. I have the radio on as the Cubs game is about to start. Even they are talking about 9/11 rather than baseball and the game they are about to play.
A few minutes ago as I do on occasion, I drove the "long" way back to my house through the town's park. The Chicago skyline was prominent over Lake Michigan. My eyes kept straying over to the Sears Tower. If it was Chicago attacked rather than New York, it would have been that building that would have been hit. I have been in the Sears Tower several times. For a while the observation deck was the default stop to take out of town friends & relatives who visited.
Tonight my city has a remembrance of the events of last year in the park. I am not sure if I will go to it or not.
