Stuffing is one of my favorite parts of the meal. Mom gave up cooking long ago and no one makes it like she and grandma used to make it. Every year I ask her to write down her old recipe for it, but she always says something along the lines of "I'll do it later."
Since I doubt I'll ever get the family recipe, one of these years I'm going to try to reconstruct it on my own. Bread cut up and left out over night to dry, celery, a few raw eggs stirred in, a stick of melted butter, and salt to taste. Then bake. I know there's more to it than that, but that's all I can really remember seeing going into it. and have no idea about the proportions at all.
Well, other than the fact they don't like cinnamon in their desserts, the relatives we go to for our holiday meals now are good cooks. It should be a good day.
And I'm still an expert at making chili if nothing else. ;-)
