Several unrelated things:
My parents may be getting some new kittens in a month or two. More info when that happens.
I was locked out of parents' garage a few nights ago when I tried to put mom's car away like I usually do. In true novel fashion "it *was* a dark and stormy night" and when I pushed the remote to open the garage door nothing happened. Finally, I got out of the car and went to the side door of the garage which is *never* locked. It was locked. So I went in and told mom. She went through her stuff and handed me 4 unlabeled keys saying one of them *might* unlock the side door.
Well, I went out and at first I thought none of the keys fit the lock, but after much effort I realize the lock was just being stubborn and finally forced the keys in the hole. One of them did work, and when I checked the wall control for the car door sure enough someone had set it on lock so it wouldn't open from the car remote.
It seems Mom's beggar was looking for money earlier that day and so mom had him sweep out the garage for a few bucks. I guess he decided to lock things up before he left.
I don't like that brown nosing bum.
I may be doing jury duty the first week of April (and that's no joke). I'm in my county's jury lottery and I have to call a recorded message next weekend to see if I'm a lucky winner.
Tomorrow we are meeting some out of town relatives for brunch. I have mixed feelings about that. The last time I saw them I was a teenager (so that makes it at least 16 years and prob. closer to 20), and while .... well, from what I gather they (as well as my folks and I) have gone through some major changes. I just wish I had a little more notice than I got, but then again short notice seems to be a reoccurring theme lately.
Finally, speaking of reoccurring themes (and this one might be more appropriate for yemQo'yaD's journal, but it's going here), I hope I never again run across the phrase:
vay' ghelbe'bogh vIghel vIneH
I said that Klingon nonsense in a fit of whimsy and next thing I knew I was teaching (and debating) Klingon grammar and syntax. Suddenly (-bogh) is my least favorite verb suffix in tlhIngan Hol. Hmm, and ghel isn't exactly a verb I want to see much in the near future either.
Next time perhaps I'll post some more introspective stuff that I've been writing in my free moments for the last week or so. Although, if I get it finished it'll be a friends only entry.
