Bye Bye Atlanta, bring on the Marlins!

This is the most enjoyment I've ever had from post season baseball.

Re: Go Cubs!

I'm hoping for more too. I'm sure you know the history of the Cubs well enough.

If they defeat the Marlins, they'll do something they've never done in our lifetimes. I do hope they go all the way.

Just for the record, that was Tom. He forgot to log out as me, silly man. =)

Re: Go Cubs!

Ah, ok. I knew he and I exchanged some pro-Cub messages in our journals a long time ago, and I was a little surprised that "you" posted that reply instead of him. I guess that explains things. :-)

Hmm, that or maybe a new twist on the old saying about living together long enough and you start to look like each other. You blog together long enough and your journals start to ... um, never mind. ;-)

Re: Go Cubs!

*grin* Well, I AM a Cubs fan, too, although rather more restrained than most. ;) *chuckles*

I am trying not to, because Lord knows we have had enough heart-ache concerning the Red Sox. They have not won the pennant since 1967 and fortget about the world series, they haven't won that since the early 1900's.

But still I have hope

Hope is the thing with feathers!

But like woody allen once said, I am the thing without feathers (when it comes to the Red Sox)

Well, I looked it up for someone else who emailed me a week or two ago. 1918 was the last time the Red Sox won the pennant (against the Cubs no less :::::grumble::::::::).

1908 was the last time the Cubs won the pennant (and they set a record by being the first to win back to back pennants that year and haven't won one since).

Both our teams have "curses." The Cubs have the curse of the goat from 1945 (last time they were even in the World Series), and the Red Sox has the Bambino's (sp?) curse. While I don't normally follow American League baseball, after the Cubs, I am kinda rooting for the Red Sox.

As for Woody Allen quotes, my favorite ones aren't the most appropriate for mixed company. ;-)

I like the one he wrote in grade school:

"She has an hour glass figure and I'd love to play in her sand."

His parents had to come to the school for a meeting over that line. The school was not amused...

LOL! I hadn't heard that one! I *like* it.

As long as you started it the ones I was thinking of were:
-
Is sex dirty? Only if it's done right.

Hey, don't knock masturbation!
It's sex with someone I love.
-

Hmm, it's not from Woody Allen, but another one of my favorites is:
How can we possibly use sex to get what we want? Sex is what we want!
(From the TV show Fraiser)

haha I must remember that sex is what we want quote. Good one. I wish Woody Allen had not gotten himself into that mess. I can't help it I admire his writing. Such talent.
