The caregiver for Mom took the day off today. Something happened to her daughter, and I guess she's near death at the hospital. I don't know the cause, but Mom told me a list of nasty sounding things that are wrong with that daughter. Things that don't happen without some external cause. I hope everything works out for the best.
So anyway, I had to cover again today for that lady. At the local little corner grocery store just as I was walking in to do some shopping, a car driving by yelled "Sammy!" It took me maybe a quarter of a second to realize he was yelling over the Sosa logo and number 21 I had on the back of my t-shirt. I yelled "yeah!" back (hey, spur of the moment and caught off guard it was the best I do).
On my way back I took the long way and went through the town's park. The leaves on the trees are turning fall colors. The lake was absolutely smooth. There were no waves at all. Way out on the horizon of the lake I saw several small white triangles. There wasn't much wind today, but judging by the 6 or 7 sail boats out there I'd say there was enough wind. One of these years this landlubber will try sailing, hmm, maybe for my 41 birthday in 5 years or so.
