I also bought myself a star fruit. I've seen those weird things before, but I've never tired one before. Well, I'll find out if I like them.
Mom went to the Dr. this afternoon. The Dr. told her that the caretaker she hired isn't working out (gee, where did we hear that before? -- it'll be even harder to fire her now that the lady's daughter is near death.) and that Mom should hire a different one. Other than that the Dr. gave Mom a good bill of health. In the mean time, I'm still working a good 7 to 8 hours a day for my folks 7 days a week with no relief in sight. ::::::shrugging:::::::
Wednesday is the monthly swingdance event at that bookstore coffee shop. I'm looking forward to going despite hearing they'd be doing the lindy this week. I'm not sure I remember how to do that one. I do remember it's an 8 count step, and more complicated than most of the 6 count swing steps I know (it's asymmetrical for one thing, the follows and leads do not mirror each other's step).
I do remember it was cool to learn too. All the leads did the step without the follows when we were learning, and hearing the feet stomping in unison ... well, it was basically "stepping" that is popular with some African-American dance groups. I never saw the appeal of stepping until I was learning the lindy all those years ago.
